Car Port FAQ's
- What about the stress factor on the wall?
The stress on the wall is negligible due to the flexibility and lightness of the GRP Beam.
- What about cement block, breeze block, and single leaf buildings?
Fine, as long as the construction is solid.
- What about rendered walls such as pebbledash?
When fixing to a rendered wall it is preferable to chip away the renderingwhere the beams and sheeting will lie against the wall. (Chip away a small line first to see the line of the brick joints.)
- What about bungalows?
It is possible to fix the Concept canopy to a bungalow. There should preferably be 900mm of brickwork above the top bolt in the beam. Whether this is feasible will be determined by the height of the wall. If it is not possible to have 900mm of brickwork above the beam fixing, but it is possible to fix the canopy at the top of the wall, then arrangements to spread the load over the wall should be considered, as below using brackets we can supply.
